DARREN BENT PRAISES PERFECT HUDDLESTONE
Derby County striker Darren Bent is praising Tom Huddlestone for his efforts in the team. They played together at Tottenham Hotspur but they are yet to line up together at Derby as Bent remains sidelined.
The midfielder moved back to the Rams this summer from Hull City following their relegation to the Championship. Huddlestone left Derby back in 2005 as a rising youngster. After his time in the Premier League, he returned to the club, where he has been impressive ever since.
Bent, who played with the star at White Hart Lane for two years out of the eight Huddlestone spent there, heaped praises on his teammate for his performance so far. The striker is expected to be back in November as he recovers from the hamstring injury he suffered in the preseason game against Port Vale.
“Tom Huddlestone is the perfect midfielder player to have behind you. In my opinion, there is no better passer in the Football League. You know as a striker nine times out of 10 that ball will be coming. It’s always in the right place at the right time and he has been a fantastic addition to the squad.”
The Derby academy product featured 95 times before exiting for Spurs. He returned on a two year deal with an option for a third with The Rams. Bent says the team couldn’t have made a better bargain.
