BALE WILL STAY
The former Tottenham Hotspur player, Ledley King, has said that he doesn’t think Gareth Bale would take a transfer this summer.
So many clubs around the world including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Bale after his brilliant outing in the Premier League last season.
According to some reports, Real Madrid is ready to spend a huge amount of 85 million Pounds to bring Bale at Santiago Bernabeu.
When King was asked about the speculations of Bale leaving Tottenham this summer, King said, “I don’t think he is going to do that. He had a fantastic last season. He was at the peak of his game. He would like to do the same next season.”
“Gareth is a very simple guy. Family matters the most for him. He had a baby last year and I don’t think he would like to take his young family anywhere outside England.”
King himself also had a very successful Tottenham career. He played for Tottenham for 13 years between 1999 and 2012. He was originally a defender, but, he used to play as a midfielder as well in the earlier parts of his career.
In 2006, King suffered a nasty knee injury and his career slowed down after that. He had various fitness problems in the following years and he missed a lot of matches for the Spurs.
Finally, before the start of the last season, King decided that it was the right time for him to announce his retirement.
In total, King featured for Tottenham in 268 games and found the net 10 times.
When asked if he misses playing football, King said, “Yes, I do. It’s not easy to play a game for more than 20 years and then, leave it all of a sudden.”
