Derby County have faltered on the way towards promotion since the turn of the year and currently sit outside the promotion spots on 7^th position. The excellent start to the season is looking distant as the club have failed to win their last five matches.

Frank Lampard is beginning to feel the pressure with last weekend humiliating 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa the latest in a series of three defeats in a row. The Villans ran a 4-0 lead in the first half as Derby players looked shell shocked. Tuesday gives the club another opportunity to close the gap to the last playoff position with the visit of struggling Wigan to Pride Park.

The Latics currently lie 19^th on the League table three points of the relegation places and have been one of the surprise packages this season. many had predicted the club to finish at the basement of the league but as it so happens in the Championship this has proven false.

However,Wigan would also be searching for a positive result in order to pull away from the remaining pack in the scrap for survival.  Lampard has a full-strength squad to pick from as he looks to steer his team to a crucial run before the end of the season.

The youngsters such as FikayoT omori, Harry Wilson and Jack Marriot have been out of form in recent weeks and the Chelsea legend could be well served in putting an experienced head in the midfield. Tom Huddlestone fits this bill as the former Tottenham star has the experience required to guide the team away from this slump.

The 32-year-old has been criticized by some section of the fans in their recent run but can make amends with an assured performance tonight at Pride Park.  We expect Derby County to be too strong for Wigan and record their first win in five games.
